Very disappointed with Saito. My wife is in an electric wheelchair and it takes per ADA guidelines 1.5 seats but they made us squeeze in and we are not small people. The service was horrible, waiter never checked in until the cook yelled for him. I tried many times to flag down other staff and the manager but was ignored until finally one staff member finally came over. I ordered seafood which was way over cooked. Cook had to throw about scallops and re-cool after I pointed out the calamari was chewy. Most of the staff just stood around as shown in the images. A place that automatically has 18% gratuity should offer good service. I have been a loyal customer of Saito for years and feel it has gone downhill as prices increase service decreased. I would suggest to any friends and/org fellow employees of SDPBC to go somewhere else if they want Japanese.

Hair in Food – Don’t Eat Here We went here for a birthday dinner, and two people in our party found long black hair in their rice (we are all blondes so it definitely wasn’t ours!). One of those meals with hair belonged to the birthday girl, so she didn’t even get to eat. The waitress removed the plates and later said they would comp one of the two meals. But to make matters worse they made it a point to charge automatic gratuity on the “comped” meal that was never eaten, which is unbelievable. Multiple meals containing hair is absolutely disgusting and we will not be returning.

Did the hibachi, it was fun. I ordered the tofu app which they brought from the kitchen so I could add it to my dinner since I'm a vegetarian. There was a lot of food, left with leftovers. The rice and veggies were absolutely delicious. I could eat the egg fried rice everyday. My husband enjoyed the shrimp more than the scallops. They were a little chewy for him.

I went there to celebrate my 17th birthday. I came with 3 friends. And there was a section to do the hibachi or your regular 1-4 seating. We did the normal table with the 4 seating. The waiter kinda scared us cause he just came up out of no where 😭 He was an asian old man so English wasn’t his first language like that. But anyways he did a decent job serving us. Since we didn’t do the hibachi, our food came in 10 minutes. We didn’t have to wait 15 minutes or more. I was kinda surprised by that. But mainly because there were a lot more people in the hibachi than the regular side. The food was really good. Unique flavor. I order lobster puffs as an appetizer. Then for the bigger meal i got hibachi rice with lobster and chicken. For my drink i had green iced tea. In total my order was $78 Im pretty sure they did a birthday special but i forgot to ask💔 Other then that, i rate this experience a 7/10

Saito’s is good not great. I’ve been to better Japanese Hibachi. They didn’t have sushi!!!The server wasn’t the most personable & took forever to bring us our check. The chef was good. Food was yummy but for the price I’d expect bigger/better quality. Definitely worth going at least once during your adventures in Wellington.
